“Organic skincare, what’s that about? I don’t eat my face cream.”

If you’ve found your way here, maybe you’re already using organic, natural skincare. If you’re wondering what it’s all about here’s a quick run down.

There’s no legal definition of organic, natural or eco-friendly in skincare and cosmetics. Anyone can put it on the label of a product containing just the tiniest percentage of natural ingredients.

Our definition is this:

Every ingredient in a peachykeen jar has been grown and extracted to recognised organic standards - certified by either the Soil Association or Ecocert (France). So that means rosehip oil from plants grown without the pesticides used in mainstream agriculture, and chamomile essential oil extracted without the use of chemical solvents.

What does it all mean for you? Well it means our finished products are as pure as you can get – and our peachykeen organic standards mean no synthetic ingredients whatsoever (including parabens, propylene glycol, PEGs, DEA, TEA, SLS - see our
Links page to find out more about these ingredients or look at our recommended books section below)

Does it matter? Well if you care about what you eat, why not care about what you put on your skin? Some of it ends up in your body too; the skin is very absorbent – that’s why nicotine patches and HRT are applied that way. Of course some would argue that your body can process the chemicals it absorbs, and that in tiny quantities they’re not harmful. The jury’s out, but we prefer not to add to the load when there’s just no need.

So why not keep it simple and use what Mother Nature – and peachykeen Organics - has provided.  Click here to browse our store.
